About the data

Course locations, names, towns, websites and access come from OpenStreetMap: every feature tagged leisure=golf_course in all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, reduced to one point per course. The data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and available under the Open Database License. This snapshot was taken on 2026-10-24.

The snapshot has 16,194 US courses. 3,171 of them have no name in OSM and show as "Unnamed golf course". We left out disc golf, miniature golf, stand-alone driving ranges, and duplicate entries for the same course.

In Colorado the map also shows 263 course boundaries plus 4,613 greens, 13,305 tees, 4,889 fairways, 10,264 bunkers and 789 water hazards (snapshot 2026-10-23).

A course shows as public when OSM tags it access=yes/permissive/customers/public or as municipally owned/operated, and as private when it is tagged access=private/members. Everything else shows as "not yet tagged". We don't guess.

Map, imagery and weather

The God's Eye View map is built with the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript. Satellite imagery and 3D terrain: Esri World Imagery (Esri, Maxar, Earthstar Geographics and the GIS user community) and Esri World Elevation. Optional public-domain layers: USGS The National Map imagery and topo. Forecasts and alerts: NOAA National Weather Service API, covering the lower 48, Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Golf trip deals

Hotel, vacation-package and travel-deal layers are coming soon. They'll only show real offers from partner feeds, labelled with the provider and an affiliate disclosure. We never publish made-up prices or pins.

We don't show green fees, ratings or seasons until they've been verified with each course.
